Certain viruses, trojans and worms rely on Windows XP System Restore to reinfect your computer. This is how you disable their "backup" before deleting the viruses.

How to turn off Windows XP System Restore

1. Click Start or go to the Desktop

2 Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.

3 On the System Restore tab, check "Turn off System Restore" or "Turn off System Restore on all drives". If you do not see the System Restore tab, you do not have Administrator access on your computer.

4 Click Apply.

5 When you see the confirmation message, click Yes.

6 Click OK.

Go to Start, Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs, scroll down to IE7, click on remove, and your computer will revert to IE6.
